Sports for students in Groningen
Studying at the University of Groningen or Hanze? With an ACLO sports card you can do sports for little money, and join one of the 15 student sports associations.
The ACLO sports card
ACLO is the sports centre of the University of Groningen and Hanze, at Zernike Campus. With the sports card you can join courses and group classes as often as you like, and book courts and open hours.
- Year card
- €79,95 for students, valid until 31 August
- Semester card
- €59,95 per semester
- Gym on weekdays
- €70 a year extra. At weekends and in holidays the gym is included.
- Try it first
- A day card costs €9,95. Buy a year card afterwards and you get that amount back.
Without the student rate, a year card costs €179,95. Checked on 23 Oct 2026 at aclosport.nl.
Student sports associations
At a student association you train with other students and often play in a league as well. You need an ACLO card, and you pay the association's own membership fee on top.
Without ACLO
Rather do sports closer to home, or not ready for a card for a whole year? Many gyms have a student price, and at bouldering halls and swimming pools you simply pay per visit.
